Dr. Carroll Butler graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School at San Antonio, and subsequently joined the United States Air Force. He completed a one-year dental residency program at Travis AFB in California, expanding his clinical skills in all areas of dentistry, and was then stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, where he practiced for 2 years. Since 1997, Dr. Butler has practiced dentistry at his own practice in Kerrville, Texas.
Carroll Butler was born and raised in Blanket, Texas, where his parents still live. Carroll’s wife, Michele was raised in an Air Force family which meant moving a lot when she was a child; however, Michele moved to San Antonio as a 7th grader, graduated from Texas A&M, and considers herself a true Texan now.
Carroll and Michele married in 1994 and were stationed in California and Arkansas during Carroll’s Air Force service. They returned home to Texas and moved to Kerrville in 1997. Carroll opened his own practice, and Michele taught math, physics, and chemistry at Tivy High School until 2001.
That year, Carroll and Michele welcomed their eldest daughter, Paige, who was joined in 2003 by their younger daughter, Meg. Over the years, more family members have arrived in animal form; the family owns several Brittany hunting dogs, a couple horses, many chickens, and there’s always room for more!
The Butlers are deeply involved in the community as members of First United Methodist Church in Kerrville. Carroll’s volunteer efforts have included The Salvation Army, The Community Foundation, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Young Men’s Business League. He enjoys cycling, hunting and fly-fishing in his off time.
Michele volunteers at the local schools, and has also served organizations such as the Christian Women’s Job Corps, Partners in Ministry, the Symphony of the Hills, and the Kerr County A&M Club.
Both children are active in sports and love being outdoors. Paige enjoys playing cello and piano, and loves running cross country, track and mountain biking. Meg plays both volleyball and basketball and likes to pole vault, ride horses, and train the family dogs.

A Tarkington Prairie native, Sheli has lived in Bandera for over 22 years. She originally attended college as a psychology major for 2 years, making the shift to dental hygiene when she realized it was a better fit. “All of my time was well spent,” she says. “The years studying psychology make me better at patient care!”
